Leaving your kids with their grandparents could be bad for their health and may even increase their risk of cancer, scientists have warned.
Most parents think of grandparents as a great, if reluctant, source of free babysitting – but they’re actually a deadly silver-haired menace which must be stopped. Or at least that’s what a new report suggests.
Grandparents who stuff children with sweet treats and big helpings of chips (in between popping out for crafty fags) could actually be giving the children cancer, the report warns.
They also allow them to laze about inside, playing video games or watching TV, instead of running around outside, it is alleged. And they reportedly tend to smoke in front of the kids, exposing their young lungs to second-hand tobacco smoke and setting a bad example.
The spoilsport claims come from a review of research on the influence grandparents have on lifestyle factors which can sow the seeds of cancer later in life.
Lead author, Dr Stephanie Chambers, the University of Glasgow’s Public Health Sciences Unit, said: ‘While the results of this review are clear that behaviour such as exposure to smoking and regularly treating children increases cancer risks as children grow into adulthood, it is also clear from the evidence that these risks are unintentional.
‘Currently grandparents are not the focus of public health messaging targeted at parents and in light of the evidence from this study, perhaps this is something that needs to change given the prominent role

grandparents play in the lives of children.”
The Glasgow team analysed data from 56 studies from 18 countries that included information about the influence of grandparents on their grandchildren.
Overall, grandparents were found to have an adverse effect – despite meaning well. In many cases, such as rewarding good behaviour with sweets, they were putting the health of their grandchildren at risk with kindness.
Smoking, poor diet, excess weight and lack of physical activity were all known to increase the risk of cancer, said the researchers.

See What Eating Too Fast Does To Your Body

A finding has revealed what eating too fast does to your body and it will make you think twice about rushing your food.
We all know someone who inhales their food. No sooner as the grub touches their plate, it’s gone and they’re wiping their mouth on a napkin.
And then they have the audacity to tell you to get a move on. But, fellow slow eaters, you’re doing things right because according to new research, eating slower could make you less likely to become obese or develop metabolic syndrome.
Eating quickly can cause fluctuations in your blood sugar which then promotes insulin resistance.
Back in 2008, a team from Hiroshima University in Japan looked at 642 men and 441 women with an average age of 51.2 years, none of whom had metabolic syndrome.

They were divided into three groups – slow eaters, average paced eaters and fast eaters. Five years later, the researchers reassessed the participants.
They found that those who ate quickly were 11.6% more likely to have developed metabolic syndrome than normal eaters (6.5%) and slow eaters (2.3%).
And eating quickly was also associated with weight gain because there isn’t enough time for the brain to process what the body is consuming. The slower you eat, the more conscious the brain is of how full the body is becoming – so you’re more likely to stop eating earlier on.
‘Eating more slowly may be a crucial lifestyle change to help prevent metabolic syndrome,’ says Takayuki Yamaji, M.D., study author and cardiologist at Hiroshima University.
‘When people eat fast they tend not to feel full and are more likely to overeat. Eating fast causes bigger glucose fluctuation, which can lead to insulin resistance. We also believe our research would apply to a U.S. population.’
Try counting how many times you chew for a day and see if that helps to make you more conscious of speed. You’ll be amazed at how much food we swallow when it’s still solid.

A teacher of Colombian origin was arrested last year for sending suggestive photos to her students and threatening to make them fail if they refused to have s*x with her.
The woman, identified simply as Yokasta M. was arrested after a father of one of the students saw photos of the teacher on his son’s phone and reported to the relevant authorities.
This was in 2016. Soon after she was exposed, her husband filed for divorce.

The case was highly sensational last year and made news headlines. It was reported that the teacher selected the boys, all less than 17 years of age, based on their appearance.

A group of academics from Uppsala University in Sweden analyzed the health records of 3.4 million people in that northern European country, where databases contain detailed information on everyone’s hospitalizations, medical history and even whether they own a dog. Such detailed records made it relatively easy to suss out the impact of having a canine companion.
The results were heartwarming.
People in possession of a pooch were less likely to have cardiovascular disease or die from any cause during the 12 years covered by the research, according to the study published in Scientific Reports . The impact was greatest for single people, said Mwenya Mubanga, an author of the paper from the university’s Department of Medical Sciences and the Science for Life Laboratory.
“Dog ownership was especially prominent as a protective factor in persons living alone, which is a group reported previously to be at higher risk of cardiovascular disease and death,” Mubanga said. “Perhaps a dog may stand in as an important family member in the single households.”
The researchers examined seven national databases in Sweden, including two that track dog ownership, focusing on people aged 40 to 80. Single dog-owning adults who lived alone were 11 percent less likely to subsequently develop heart disease and 33 percent less likely to die than non-dog owners, the analysis found. Hunting dogs seemed to offer the most protection when it came to staying alive.
It’s not clear exactly how the dogs helped avert heart disease, or whether getting one directly led to better health, cautioned Tove Fall, the senior author of the paper and associate professor in epidemiology at Uppsala University. It’s possible that dog owners are healthier and more active before they get a canine companion, she said.
“We know that dog owners, in general, have a higher level of physical activity, which could be one explanation to the observed results,” Fall said. “Other explanations include an increased well-being and social contacts or effects of the dog on the bacterial microbiome in the owner.”
Either way, maybe an extra treat for that doting Lab waiting for you at home is in order.

A self-proclaimed Jesus Christ, with real name, Roland Samuel, who reportedly brainwashes his followers; 300L, 400L students in various universities to abandon their education and abuses them sexually, has reportedly been arrested by NSCDC officers.

Facebook user, Anazodo Echezonachukwu, who narrated the story wrote;

“At last, this bastard and beast was finally caught.

This paedophile and s*xual pervert by name Roland Samuel sexually and psychologically abused all these victims in this picture.

Amongst these victims are fellas who were in 300L, 400L in various universities.

They withdrew and followed this bastard who successfully brainwashed them into believing he is the recent “Christ” and cannot commit sin.

He usually engages all these victims in an*l s*x with an assurance that their sins are forgiven because they are living in “grace”.

Evidences of his teachings are intact.

On this particular occasion, his victims went to eat at a restaurant known as mama put and didnt pay.

When they were asked to pay, they replied that their father in heaven owns everything.

Parents, this guy starts off as the CEO of Soundmind lesson centre in Kosofe Ketu Lagos. He folded this up and alleged that Christ has called him.

Please, be wary of your kids and their place of learning and where they go at all times..

He caught them young and manipulated their mind. The victims are currently in rehabilitation centres as some of them are ready to kill for him.

Luckily, about two already made a confession to NSCDC officials. I pray this bastard is locked up forever and the keys thrown away.

I shall update this news as I have more to say. ”

After unveiling the statues of two African presidents, Jacob Zuma of South Africa and Ellen Sirleaf Johnson of Liberia, Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha is set to unveil 10 more statues.
Okorocha’s erecting of those statues had generated lots of controversies, however it has been revealed that the governor would soon unveil more statues.
A PUNCH correspondent visited the Ikemba Ojukwu Centre in Owerri, Imo State capital, where the statues were erected, but security men didn’t allow him to enter.
However, a top Government House official revealed that Okorocha was set to unveil statues of former President Olusegun Obasanjo; a former Vice-President, Alex Ekwueme; a former Senate President, late Evans Enwerem; and the first civilian Imo State Governor, Sam Mbakwe.

According to the source, others whose statues would soon be unveiled are those of the first Nigerian President, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe; former Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa; late sage, Obafemi Awolowo; and Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo.
The source said that of Akufo-Addo would be unveiled at a ceremony when he visits the state soon.
The government official added the idea of unveiling the statues was to celebrate leaders, who had through “selfless efforts” contributed to the development of the state, Nigeria and the African continent.
The source said, “The governor is interested in celebrating those who have contributed to the development of mankind, especially on the African continent. In the years to come, these leaders will be no more but their statues will keep them evergreen in the minds of the people.
“With the statues, they have been inducted into the Imo Hall of Fame and have received the highest award in the state called the Imo Merits Award.”
When asked how much each statue cost the state government, the official said they were not as expensive as people were exaggerating.
“It is not as costly as people had exaggerated. Though I don’t know the exact amount, the government cannot use about N500m to erect one statue. It is not possible. The governor is a prudent manager of resources,” he said.

38-year-old South African lady, Mildred Mashego and her 19-year-old daughter, Patricia Mashego gave birth to babies for same man, with just 4 days apart; first the daughter, then the mother.
Mildred allegedly got very angry after she learnt that her daughter was pregnant for her father of 3 boyfriend, Vincent Malumane, and reportedly considered aborting the baby after she found out the truth.
Malumane who admitted having an affair with the mother and daughter behind their backs, said;
“I cannot go back now and explain what happened. All we have to do is focus on making sure that the children are properly cared for,” said the man.

The ladies welcomed healthy boys, making the children brothers, a nephew, an uncle and a grandson, as it was gathered that the aggrieved mother has forgiven her daughter for the sake of her grandson.
