A few weeks ago, it was in the news that popular actor, Femi Adebayo, was facing some marital challenges. It was reported by some online platforms that the star actor’s second marriage was heading for the rocks.
Even though the actor tried his best to do some damage control by going on his social media platforms to explain to his fans what was happening in his household, the news had already spread like wildfire.
In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the actor revealed that he was shocked when he saw the news on various blogs in the country. He said, “When I read on blogs that my marriage was in turmoil, I was very surprised. The social media is a crazy place but we have no choice but to use it as well because of the nature of our work. The news stories about my marriage are actually not true. My wife and I decided to downplay our romance on social media because we believe that social media could be damaging to marriages and that is the reason why we decided to pull down our pictures. We removed our pictures two weeks before I actually saw the news. To the glory of God, I was at home when the news broke and we immediately did a live video to tell our fans that all is well and the news was coming as a surprise to us. The blogger that actually started the rumour also visited the comment section of our live video to tell people that the news was false. I am not surprised anymore when some false stories are said about me as a celebrity but it is extremely important for people to know that it is better to tell positive stories about celebrities than false and negative stories. Regardless, I am not going to sue the blogger. For the records, my marriage is intact; my family is fine.”

An unapologetic mum who was shamed for breastfeeding her tot at Disneyland launched an incredible comeback against her critics.

Instead of feeling self-conscious, or upset by their remarks, Ms Medina stood in front of the two women and took a photo of herself, smiling as she nursed her child.
In her post she said:
“These women were making snarky comments so I moved from my spot to catch a picture with these characters.
“Not for attention for me but attention to the fact NO WOMEN SHOULD BE SHAMED FOR FEEDING THEIR BABY UNCOVERED.”
She posted her fury on a public breastfeeding group and remarked that she and her husband will continue to visit the theme park because they are annual pass holders.
Her post has generated thousands of comments on Facebook. Some applauded her bravery and told her to “keep up the great work”

It certainly cannot be out of place for a school with a student population made up of individuals and children from various countries across the world with different social and cultural backgrounds, to embark on an initiative aimed at promoting unity.

And that’s exactly what Delhi Public School International (DPSI) Ghana, did on Saturday, November 18, 2017, as it organized this year’s edition of its Inter-House Cultural Event.
The annual event held at the school’s Tema Community 25 campus was aimed at building up the competitive spirit among DPSI Ghana’s students who came from about 28 different countries with different cultures, and to as well promote team spirit and togetherness among them.

Aside promoting cultural diversity, the event according to the Principal of DPSI Ghana, David Raj, was also aimed at providing the platform where students could showcase their talents before their loved ones and friends.
“You all very well know that with the support of the enthusiastic

management and teachers, we always create platforms for our children to showcase their talents,” Mr. Raj said in his short welcome remarks.
He added that “DPSI not only churns out the best in academics but also endeavors to bring out the latent talents in our students.”

In all, there is one junior and senior team each from the four houses of the school namely Emerald House, Sapphire House, Ruby House, and Topaz House, competing against one another in singing, dancing and symphony orchestra performance.
Songs of unity and peace including the late Michael Jackson’s famous ‘Heal The World’ were sang on the night and the brilliant performances from the various houses left everyone within the audience absolutely mesmerized.
Ruby House emerged the overall winner with Emerald House securing the second runners up position on the night that saw teams and individual students who distinguished themselves in their respective performances being decorated with trophies
and gold medals.
Director of DPSI Ghana, Mukesh Thakwani, in an interview with the press on the sidelines of the event, said “DPSI believes in imbibing in children not only education but extracurricular activities. That’s what makes us different.”
Seated among the large crowd that came to watch the thrilling performances by the students, were, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), Yofi Grant, Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, Birenda Singh and outgoing President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), James Asare.
Seeing the high level of confidence in public speaking and wonderful performances, the High Commissioner and Mr. Grant were left with no option but to commend authorities of the school for the enormous efforts they are making in moulding the children to become “full characters” as Mr. Grant preferred to put it.
