The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has said it will not post corps members to any area where there is no enough security.
This was confirmed in a statement by, NYSC Director-General, Sulaiman Kazaure, said the security of corps members is a priority to the management of the scheme.
It said Mr. Kazaure stated this while addressing 2017 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Corps Members at NYSC Zamfara State Orientation Camp in Tsafe and also in Wamakko Orientation Camp, Sokoto State.
He urged the corps members to obey constituted authorities throughout their service year.
The DG warned them that their status as corps members is not an immunity against prosecution if they violate the laws of the country.
He advised them to be courteous while dealing with security officials, noting that nation-building is a collective effort of every citizen as he urged the corps members to contribute their quota as graduate citizens.
He urged the corp members to acquire entrepreneurship skills while in camp in order to avoid unemployment after the service year.
Mr. Kazaure urged corps members to respect the culture of their host communities, stressing that females should dress decently and avoid provocative dresses.
NYSC Sokoto State Coordinator, Musa Abubakar, informed the Director-General that the corps members had shown interest in acquiring vocational skills in order to become entrepreneurs.

When the song, Malo was released, music followers felt it was Tiwa Savage’s gift to her husband, Tee Billz. Their marriage was once in crisis, but they’ve found a way to make things work for the better. But the producer of the hit song, Benjamin Spellz, popularly known as Spellz, insisted that it was not even in Tiwa Savage’s plans to drop the song when she did. Spellz told Sunday Scoop, “I did two songs on Tiwa’s EP. Malo was originally my song that I planned to release this year. So, when we wanted to put out her EP, she needed one more song. I was not in Nigeria at that time and Tiwa was in New York too. It was difficult to work together; so, I said we should add Malo to the EP. “I saw it as our song since I featured Wizkid and Tiwa on it. And without their efforts, the song wouldn’t be made. I am not the type that holds on to things for too long. Since Tiwa liked the idea, I spoke to Wizkid as well and he liked it too.” He added that Malo was the last song they did and the last song they put on the EP, but he knew it would make a lasting impact upon its release. The producer added, “In fact, I don’t think we’ve seen the best of the song. When I produced Wande Coal’s Iskaba last year, I knew it would be a big song. A year after we did Iskaba, awards are still coming in for the song. How many songs do you produce and a year after, they are still relevant? In Nigeria, the lifespan of songs is just three months.” Spellz explained that everyone played his or her parts in the making of the song. According to him, Tiwa wrote her verses and Wizkid wrote his as well. “When we make songs, we come together. At the end of the day, we are only after the good of the song. So, everyone brought their own ideas for the good of Malo.” Source: Punch
